Arthur Stephen Hubbard married Gladys Roxanna Brown at Braintree, Massachusetts, in 1924. He maintained a home in Braintree for almost 40 years, and had a cottage called the Stone Chimney at White Horse Beach, in Massachusetts. He collected clocks and enjoyed playing cards. He taught us the game of Cribbage with a board and pegs to keep score during the card game. When hot dogs were on the menu, he asked us, "What kind of dog do you want?" Then he suggested different breeds such as dashound or collie. He was a WWI army veteran and a member of the Legion in Braintree and Fitchburg. A handwritten copy of his obituary mentioned affiliation with All Souls U. U. Church in Braintree, Massachusetts, and Norfolk Masonic Lodge. The Delta Masonic chaplain participated in his funeral. Aunt Gladys took us to visit his grave in Ashby when we visited her after his burial.
