Thomas Albert Chowning, 93, a former resident of the Twin City area, died Sunday in a Yakima hospital following a lingering illness.He was born July 11, 1876, in Galt, Mo. He had been a resident of Selah the past 30 years. Prior to that, he had lived in the Chehalis -Centralia area. Mr. Chowning was a member of the United MethodistChurch, Centralia.Survivors include three sons, Noble Chowning, Milwaukie and Eugene, Ore.; Harry Chowning, Alaska, and Noel Chowning, Albany, Ore.; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park, Centralia, with the Rev. Wendell J. Cone officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Sticklin Funeral Home,Centralia.
