Ione was born July 30, 1920 to William Louder Watt and Mable Elizabeth Wheat-ley, in Thatcher, Utah. Ione grew up in Thatcher where she attended school. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1938. In her youth, she was taught the meaning of hard work. She worked in her home, in other homes and in the fields on the farm.
Ione married Darrel E. Udy on May 21, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. Four children were born to this union. They made their home in Bothwell where they farmed and started a dairy. Years later they moved the family and the dairy to Garland where they spent the remainder of their years. Ione was a loving, caring wife and mother and spent many long hours working along side her husband on the farm. Darrel passed away on Dec. 13, 1994.
Ione was a member of the LDS Church and served willingly in many callings.
Ione enjoyed cooking and many people delighted in her delicious meals. She also spent many hours creating beautiful handwork. All of her grandchildren had lovely trousseaus because of her. Ione loved the fun times making quilts with The quilting Ladies.
She is survived by her four children; Farrell E. (Margaret Ann) Udy, Garland; Neal D (Charlene) Udy, Fielding; Rae Ann (Ron) Hepworth, Burley ID; Lora Lee (Bryce ) Hunsaker, Vanderhoof, BC, Canada. 14 Grandchildren and 30 Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Dee (Dorothy) Watt; three sisters; Delilah (Larry) Thatcher, Alice (Ralph) Yearsley, Judy (Kenneth) Gilson.
