Elsie lived to just 21 years, 11 months, and 9 days, her death a tragedy, so much to live for- love, marriage, and children, all this was lost; however, her spirit surely lives on as another brilliant star in the heavenly sky.

Details:

Elsie died of complications received after a car accident (December 2, 1926). She was walking and when she approached the intersection of Pearl and 8th Street (downtown) she accidentally stepped into the side of an ice-truck when crossing the street. She was rushed to the Eugene Hospital, where she survived an operation, on December 09, 1926, then released. At the end of the month she was re-admitted to the hospital where she died on December 30.

Please note: Death Certificate shows January 21, 1904 as a birth date, this appears to be in error.

Funeral was January 03, 1927, 2:00 P.M., at Veatch Chapel, with Reverend J. Franklin Haas officiating. Internment at the I.O.O.F Cemetery.

Elsie had the following brothers and sisters:

Brinton Wallace McNeil (eldest)
Lilly McNeil (Lillie)
James McNeil (Jamie)
Clyde W. McNeil
Hubert B. McNeil
Agnes V. McNeil
Baby Winnie Clair McNeil

Gracious thanks to Eugene Pioneer Cemetery Researcher Dorothy Brandner, who was most gracious and helpful in the securing and updating of this memorial.
