Springfield, S.C. - Ligon L. Barr, 56, died Wednesday night at the Orangeburg Regional Hospital following an illness of two weeks. Mr. Barr was the son of the late Hartley C. and Irene Ashe Barr and had lived in the surrounding community his entire life. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was interested in the welfare of the church and the community. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Black Barr of Springfield; two sons, Vernon L. Barr of Jacksonville, Fla., and Wayne H. Barr of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Lee Barr Tyler and Mrs. Lila Barr Hallman, both of Springfield; three brothers, H. Carroll Barr and Kermit C. Barr, both of Springfield, and H. Danley Barr of Charleston; a great aunt, Mrs. Ella Barr Gleaton of Springfield and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 4:40 p.m. Friday at the graveside in Springfield Cemetery by Rev. L. G. Payne and Rev. Lloyd Till. Active pallbearers will be Oneal Barr, Frank D. Hallman, Hal Tyler, Harry Allen Davis, Marion Black and Jean Black. Honorary pallbearers will be L. M. ACkerman, H. M. Duncan, Lenox Bennett, Marshall Williams, Jack Wannamaker, Wilbur Grooms, Luther Counts, Frank Jumper, Richard Smith, Heyward Argoe, Hargrove Corbett, William I. Inabinet and Olin Burgdorf.
