Springfield - Kermit C. Barr, 55, died Friday afternoon at his home after an illness of several months. Mr. Barr was born in Orangeburg County near Springfield, the son of the late Hartley C. and Irene Ashe. He was a farmer and worked for the Holiday Inn in Orangeburg. He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Evelyn Gleaton Barr; one son, Archie K. Barr of Springfield; one grandson, Jan Barr of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Lee Tyler and Mrs. Harry Hallman, both of Springfield; two brothers, H. C. Barr of Springfield and H. D. Barr of Charleston, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at Springfield Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Hubart Sinclair officiating.
