A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Marshalltown for Edwin Horney, 86, of Altoona Manor, 200 Seventh St., S.E. Altoona, who died of a heart ailment Wednesday at home.
Mr. Horney was born in Leon and lived in Altoona three years coming from Grimes and Marshalltown. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl, four sons, Charles of Newton, Delbert of Kalispell, Mont., DeWayne of Post Falls, Idaho, and Oliver of Gilman, two daughters, Nadine Beller of Knoxville and Jenoise Buckalew of Grimes, a brother, Lee of Leon, two sisters, Esther Rex of Post Falls and Edith Garber of Yuma, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon today at Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
