Funeral services for Joanne Whatley Cox, 46, of Vivian were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist with the Rev. Tommy Brewer, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cox died December 3 at North Caddo Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was a resident of Vivian most of her life. She was clerk for the Vivian Water Department. She was born August 2, 1935 in Marion County, Texas. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Vivian.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Ray Cox of Vivian; two sons, Marshall O'Neal Cox and Terry Lynn Cox both of Vivian; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hardy Whatley of Vivian; one sister, Mrs. Jane Lucious of Gainsville, Florida; two brothers, James Whatley of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Raymond Whatley of Mooringsport; one granddaughter and one grandson.
Joanne died after a long battle with Lung Cancer.
