Hardy O. Whatley, 89, of Vivian entered into rest on November 10, 1999 following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Whatley was born on February 28, 1910 in Cass County, Texas. He had been a resident of Vivian for 50 years and he was retired from Arkla Gas.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 12 at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dwight Bird officiated at the service, assisted by Rev. Donnie Bradley.
Burial followed in Evans-Richie Cemetery.
Mr. Whatley was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Whatley and his daughter, Joanne Whatley Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lee Whatley of Vivian; two sons, James E. Whatley and his wife, Mary of Vivian, Raymond Whatley and his wife, Beth of Blanchard; two step-sons, Tommy E. Miles and his wife, Sherry of Vivian, and Bud Miles and his wife Leta, of Vivian; one daughter, Judy Whatley Lucuis of Gainsville, Florida; two step-daughters, Laverne Shelton and her husband, Bobby Joe of Vivian, and Judy Lemons and her husband, Gene of Vivian.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
