Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. Fahs, widow of Silas J. Fahs, who died Monday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fahs, 344 South Queen St., were held at the Strack and Strine Funeral Home, 1204 East Market St. Rev. Vance L. Green, pastor of Duke St. Methodist Church, officiated. Members of Yorktowne Chapter American War Mothers No. 1 held services at the funeral home and at the graveside. Pallbearers were: James, Robert, Elmer and Ralph Fays, Earl Swords and Fred L. Smyser.

"Mrs. Mary A. Fahs, died at 10:10 p.m. yesterday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fahs, 344 South Queen Street, following an illness of a week.
She was 85 years old, and was preceded in death by her husband, Silas J. Fahs.
A member of Duke Street Methodist church, American Legion auxiliary, York post No. 127, and the American War Mothers.
She leaves nine children, Mrs. J. W. Wilhelm, 303 East Market Street, James Fahs, 634 Courtland Street; Robert Fahs, York R. D. 5; Mrs. Earl Swords, 330 East Princess Street; Mrs. Grace Schwartz, 158 West Jackson Street; Mrs. Fred Smyser, 373 Madison Avenue: Elmer Fahs, Manchester; Miss Bessie Fahs, Philadelphia, and Ralph Fahs, 344 South Queen Street, 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grand children and a great-great-grand child, a sister, Miss Amanda Horn, 158 West Jackson street, and a brother, Samuel Horn, 1019 South Queen street."
