Mrs. Lula Mae Cooper, 74, of 924 3rd Ave., New Cumberland, died Sunday at 10:30 p.m. at the Clifford Curry residence on R. D. !.
She was born July 25, 1892, in McKim Run, Pleasants County, W.Va., a daughter of the late James McClelland and Sophia Ryan McClelland. Her husband, the late Mahlon Cooper, and Mrs. Cooper came to New Cumberland in 1908. Mr. Cooper died in 1950.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church, the Senior Women's Club, the North American Benefit Association and was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Operative Potters.
Surviving are a son, Ernest Cooper of New Cumberland; two daughters, Mrs. Sophia Schmidbauer of East Liverpool
And Mrs. Charles (Marjorie)) Mechling of New Cumberland; two brothers, Charles McClelland of Paris, Pa., and Raymond McClelland of Baltimore; a sister, Mrs. G. L. (Ada) Dennis of Inglewood, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Fields Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Allen S. Fields of the New Cumberland Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in new Cumberland Cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the funeral home.
