She was born in West Virginia May 3, 1909, a daughter of the late Mahlon Cooper and Lula Mae McClelland Cooper.
She lived most of her life here moving from New Cumberland. She was graduated from East Liverpool School of nursing and retired as a registered nurse from City Hospital. She was a member of Campground Community Church, the East Liverpool Area Senion Citizens, the Goldenaires and the Ohio Nursing Association. A local Radio station named Mrs. Schmidbauer "Mother of the Year" in 1965.
Her husband, Lawrence J. Schmidbauer, died Oct. 12, 1951.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Marian) Haney of Ravenna, Ohio, Mrs. James (Nancy) Davidson and Mrs. David (Martha)) McELhaney of East Liverpool; four sons, Richard L. Schmidbauer of East Liverpool, Joseph L. Schmidbauer and John M. Schmidbauer of Glenmoor and Thomas C. Schmidbauer at home; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Marjorie) Mechling of New Cumberland; a brother, Ernest Cooper of New Cumberland; 21 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services are to be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dawson funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gray officiating.
Burial is to be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call a the funeral home Wednesday evening where Senior Citizens are to hold a service at 6:30 and Thursday afternoon and evening.
