ERNEST LAWRENCE COOPER, 80, of New Cumberland, died Wednesday, September 30, 1998, in Weirton Medical Center.
He was a retired crane repairman at Weirton Steel Corporation with 35 years of service. He was a Protestant and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malon and Lula May McClelland Cooper; a brother, Thurman Cooper, and a sister, Sophia Schmibeaur.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred McCoy Cooper; two sons, Ernest and Robert of Weirton; a sister, Marjorie Mechling of New Cumberland; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services were held Saturday at the Nixon Funeral Home with interment in Union Cemetery, New Manchester
