Columbus William “C. W.” Hinson, 83, was retired from an abstract company he was instrumental in helping to create: Marshall, King, and Hinson. He was a pioneer civic leader and one of 10 children. In 1891, he united with the Methodist Church. Mr. Hinson started school at Henry's Chapel School. He spent his boyhood at the Hinson homestead in the Salem community. After graduating from high school at 15, he attended Polytechnic Business College in Fort Worth.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Graham Industrial Association, Shriner, Angus Association.
Survived by one daughter - Mrs. J.A. Gardenhire; one sister - Mrs. Dessie Cook; nieces and nephews.
