Bascom Danis Price Sr., 62, Rogersville, died Tuesday May 28, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsport.

A lifelong resident of Hawkins County, he was a farmer and a coal dealer. Price was a member of Grassy Springs Missionary Baptist Church and the Overton Masonic Lodge No. 5.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Retha Ellen and Angela Lynne Price; one son, Jimmy Lynn Price; and his mother, Victoria Mary Price.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Marie Price of the home; six daughters, Shirley Houston of Surgoinsville, Yolanda Fugate, Teresa Parker and Donna Lamb all of Eidson, Connie Wolf of Tread way and Jeanne Sims of Rogersville; four sons, Bascom D. Price Jr., Ronnie E. Price, Michael D. Price and Johnny G.Price all of Rogersville; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his father, Homer Price of Eidson; three brothers, Floyd Lawson of Mount Carmel, Joe Price of Illinois and Claude H. Price of Rogersville; three sisters, Pauline Hurd of Ohio, Imogene Burton of Nashville and Ruby G. Rogers of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Masonic services were conducted at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Colboch-Price Funeral Home Chapel.

Services were conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Grassy Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Free, the Revs. Earl Bowlin and C.J. Dalton officiating.

Interment was in Price Cemetery.
