Edward Mobley Arnette was born in Fairfield County, Jan. 30, 1921. He was a son of the late Robert Evans Arnette and Sara Hall Arnette. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church since Jan. 20, 1991. An Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the American Legion where he coached American Legion Little League Baseball. He died Mon., July 9th at the Bethea Baptist Home near Darlington, S.C. He was 80 years of age. He is survived by two sons, Ned Arnette of Ridgeway and Bratton Arnette of Winnsboro; as well as four daughters, Caroline McRae of Irmo, Toni Estes of Winnsboro, Fran Lusk of Florence and Ginny Eldridge of Tampa, Fla. Also his brothers, F. Davis Arnette and William J. "Bunny" Arnette, both of Winnsboro and John "Dooley" Arnette of Melbourne, Fla. In addition, he has nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Wylie Arnette; and a sister, Caroline Brice; and brothers, Robert, Berry, John, and Doug.
