James Douglass "Doug" Arnette, 65, of 502 West Liberty Street, Winnsboro S.C., died Friday, Sept. 2, 1994. Born in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Robert Evans and Sara Hall Arnette. He was a 1947 graduate of the Mt. Zion Institute, Winnsboro, S.C. He retired as an employee of Swainsboro Plant Works and was a member of the Swainsboro First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his sons, James "Doug," Jr., Berry, and Richard, all of Vidalia, Georgia; brothers Berry, Ed, Davis and William Arnette, all of Winnsboro, Jack Annette of Midlothian, Virginia, and John Arnette of Melbourne, Fla., and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sun., Sept. 4, 1994 at the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Richard B. Hodges. Pope Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
