He was born June 7, 1923, in Rutland, a son of Harm and Edna Proctor Harms. He married Kathryn A. Zulz on May 2, 1953, in Wenona at St. Mary's Rectory. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Ralph worked at Commonwealth Edison for 36 years before his retirement in February 1985.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion in Rutland, Masonic Lodge in Wenona, Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Rutland Cemetery board.
