Last Friday was a lovely fall day, warm for this season of the year, and an unusually large number of relatives and friends gathered at the Rutland Methodist church to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Harm G. Harms, widely known and life-long resident of the community, who passed away at her home, north of this village on Tuesday of last week after a long illness. The church was scarcely large enough to accommodate all who were in attendance.
In respect to the deceased and her family, the Rutland schools were closed that afternoon and the high school students and faculty attended the services in a body.

"The Old Rugged Cross" was sung by a duet by George and Miss Blanche Lindgren of Wenona and Miss Lindgren sang "Fade, Fade, Each Earthly Joy" as a solo. Mrs. Ralph Baker presided at the piano.
Burial was in the Rutland cemetery. The pallbearers were Harry Flesburg of Wenona, K. R. Fallon, H. P. Jackson, Carl Lindgren, Harry McBride and Peter Lutz.
