Friedrich (Fred) Karl Suppe was born April 28, 1825, in Naumburg, Germany, the 5th child of Friedrich Christian Gottfried Wilhelm Suppe and Eleonora Friedericka Wilhelmina Bluhm. Friedrich married Johane Dorothea Froliche about 1852 in Germany. They came to live in America sometime in the 1850's after their marriage. They lived in Ohio and Indiana before they settled in Saline Co., Missouri, and raised their family of four children: Mary, Reinhold Carl, William, and Bertha Charlotte. Fred's business/trade was carpentry. He died on January 19, 1903, in New Frankfort, Saline Co., Missouri, and was buried in the New Frankfort Cemetery.

Two of Fred's brothers also came to America:
William Suppe "Friedrich Wilhelm Gottlob "William" Suppe" and Carl Suppe "Friedrich Carl Suppe".
