He married Elizabeth Kaul on September 5, 1883, in New Frankfort, Saline Co., Missouri. They had 7 children: Gertrude Johanna, Frederick Albert, Carl Peter, Eda Elizabeth, Esther Mary, Raymond Reinhold, and Clara Ruth Magdalene. They lived in Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma during the years they raised their family. Reinhold died on December 1, 1946, in Clinton, Custer Co., Oklahoma, and was buried in the Clinton Cemetery, Custer Co., Oklahoma.
