Funeral services for Chester Lee (Check) Caviness, Memphis resident for a quarter of a century, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist Church.

Rev. Rollo Davidson, pastor, conducted the last rites. He was assisted by Rev. Keith Parks of Ft. Worth. Burial was in Fairviey [sic] Cemetery under the direction of Murphy-Spicer Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were: O.M. Gunstream, Herman Clements, EA. Thomas, Glenn Carlos, Exie Sweatt, and L.B. Merrell.

Honorary pall bearers were: C.W. Crawford, Scott Montgomery, Bill Gilreath, Claude Wells, Ray Wynn, J.E. Roper, M.C. Allen, O.B. Janes and L.G. Rasco.

Mr. Caviness, 64, died Monday morning at his home here in Memphis.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1885, in Gravely, Ark., and married Miss Ada Manda Lofland in 1904. She preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 1937.

He was married to Mrs. Allie Meredith here on Dec. 29, 1943.

Mr. Caviness was a farmer and a member of the First Methodist Church here.

Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Louise Caviness of Memphis, Tenn. A son, Jim Caviness of Heart Mountain, Wyo. also survives.

Other survivors include two brothers, John Caviness of Danville, Ark., and Walter Caviness of Gravely, Ark., and a sister, Mrs. Allie Montgomery of Gravely, Ark.
