BRAUER - Oscar J. Brauer, 67, R. R. 1 Winnebago, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, April 6, 1958 in his home after a lengthy illness. Born May 4, 1890, in Seward township, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brauer, and lived all his life in this area. Married to the former Jessie Pollard In Rockford, Feb. 9, 1915. He farmed for 30 years. Member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Winnebago, former member of Winnebago County Farm Bureau board, and former member of Winnebago School Board.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Carmichael and Mrs. Helen Gieske, both of Rochelle; a son, Harold Brauer, Winnebago; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Joe Pollard; a brother, Lawrence Brauer, a niece Mrs. Jane McGee, all of Rockford. Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church, Winnebago, with the Rev. Elmer Whyte, pastor, officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery. Arrangements by Julian-Poorman Funeral Home, 304 N. 5th St. Friends may call at funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to a memorial fund in First Presbyterian Church.
