ADA - John M. Carman, 80, Route 2, Ada, former Marion Township constable, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday in the hospital of the Hardin County Home. He had been ill the last 10 years, seriously ill for two weeks.
He was a lifelong resident of Hardin County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Maysville Methodist Church.
On Nov. 20, 1902, he was married to Myrtle Sinift, who survives; three sons, Charles, Detroit; Ralph, Tecumseh, Mich., and Ben, Route 2, Ada; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Hecalthorn, Route 1, Kenton; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Arthur, Route 2, Lafayette.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Maysville Church. Rev. Robert Miller will officiate and burial will be in Preston Cemetery. The body will remain at Route 2, Ada, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Arrangements are in charge of the Hanson Funeral Home, Alger.
