Mrs. Purdham was born Oct 16, 1915, in Page County and was a daughter of the late James Ernest Mayes and Artie L Nauman Mayes.
She was a homemaker and an inspector for Appomattox garment. She was a member of Hawksbill Primitive Baptist Church.
On nov 17, 1936, she married Harry Leo Purdahm, who died in Dec 8, 1967.
Surviving are one son, Thomas A Purdham of Dale City; two daughters, Janet Gander of Luray and Judy Collins of Alexander; three sisters, Elna L Mayes and Myra M Hilliard, both of Stanley, and Madeline Sours of Berryville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Elder Ernest Long will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial will be in Graves Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home or at the Purdham home at any time.
