Stella (Greenfield) Woertink daughter of Dick and Reba (Nordmann) Greenfield was born on November 12, 1920 south of Castlewood, SD. She lived her entire life within six miles of Castlewood. She attedned rural school near Castlewood and attended the Castlewood High School. She continued her education at Mitchell College and was a graduate of the Watertown Business School in 1939. She was then employed for Rozum Brothers Ford Company and the Credit Bureau of Watertown for several years. Stella was united in marriage to Harry Woertink on March 22, 1941 in Castlewood. Stella then worked for the Castlewood Co-Op Creamery for six years and as a teller, bookkeeper and cashier for the Citizens State Bank, later the United National Bank and First Interstate Bank for 23 years until ill health forced her retirement in 1987. Stella continued to worked part-time at ICAP until 1991. She entered the Assisted Living in Castlewood in 2000. Harry died on April 1, 1981. Stella died on Friday, October 3, 2003 at Prairie Lakes Care Center in Watertown at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Castlewood, the Presbyterian Women and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also served as past president of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared her life are one daughter Kay Wieber (Leroy) of Altamont, SD; two sons LeRoy Woertink (Maureen) of Medford, OR, Todd Woertink (Brenda) of Castlewood, SD; three granddaughters; seven grandsons; eight great grandchildren; four brothers Richard "Ted" Greenfield (Rose) of Brookings, SD, Carl Greenfield (Phyllis) of Castlewood, SD, William Greenfield (June) of Tucumcari, NM, and Robert Greenfield (Vivian) of Watertown, SD. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, three brothers and one grandson (Jason).
