On June 20, 2001, our dearly loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully with dignity as his three children said their heartfelt good-byes.

For years he said that if he could have eighty good years he would be happy.

He was born on August 7, 1920 to George Travers Tucker and Della Redd Spilsbury in Colonia Dublan, Mexico.

The family later moved to Orem, Utah and lived a life of hard work on the farm.

He was on the debate team at Snow College and attended Brigham Young.

He married his beautiful wife Madge Walker Tucker in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1942.

Shortly after, he was assigned to serve in World War II for three years, two of them overseas.

They had a wonderful life together for nearly 47 years, and created lots of great memories before her untimely death in 1989.

He was a key figure in the Real Estate and Appraisal business.

He served as director of Real Estate for the State of Utah, President of the Utah Mortgage Bankers, and president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors.

He and Madge lived in the Parley's First Ward for most of their married life where he served in the Bishopric and had several wonderful friends.

Their tennis and golf groups enjoyed years of fun together.

He was an avid golfer and tennis player winning tournaments in both sports, including several gold medals in the World Senior Games.

He loved unconditionally and had an incredible knack for making friends with everyone.

He was the best grandpa and spent countless quality time with his grandchildren and they loved each other deeply.

He had a special friend, Betty, who he enjoyed spending time with later in life.

He enjoyed the winters in St. George with many friends.

He is survived by his three children, Pat Tucker, Robert Monroe, and Bret Jon (Pam), all of Salt Lake; five grandchildren, Megan, Travis, Riley, Zachary and Simon; brother, Karl (Orem), and sister Allison Schanz (Salt Lake), preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers George, Wayne and Ray; and his sisters Hazel and Lucille Taylor.

A celebration of Monroe's life will be held on Monday June 25, at noon at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive.

Family and friends may call from 10-11:45 a.m. the day of the service.

The family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

He was buried in a private family ceremony.
