Dennis Hensley was born Saturday, September 22, 1894 in Danville, Morgan County, Alabama, to George W. Hayden Hensley and Lillie Sterling Hensley.

He married Marthie McDaniel, a daughter of William B. McDaniel and Elizabeth "Bessie" Brown McDaniel.

DANVILLE -- Funeral services for Dennis Hensley, 74, Danville 3, who died Monday at his home, will be at 2 p,m, Wednesday at the Danville Methodist Church, Rev. Marvin Bridges and Rev. Addie Wallace officiating.

Burial will be in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery, Peck directing.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Martha Hensley, Danville 3; three daughters, Mrs. Estelle Livingston, Danville 2; Mrs. Lucille Duncan and Mrs. Virginia Oden, both of Danville 3; a son, Alvie Hensley, Danville 3; a brother, Lige Hensley, Trinity; 12 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Orvil McDaniel, Ottis McDaniel, Dink McDaniel, D. J. Duncan, Herman Oden, Loyal Livingston.

Mr. Hensley was a member of the Johnson Chapel Methodist Church and a veteran of World War I.

The body will remain at the residence until taken to the church for services.

In the World War I Draft Registration of June 5, 1917, he was described as medium height, slender build with blue eyes and dark brown hair. He was a single, 23 year old farmer at that time. He claimed support for his father and mother.
