Kay was the daughter of Clyde Joseph and Mary Pearl Moore Lindsey. She married Francis William Jarnagan on March 18, 1948, in Chicago.

He preceded her in death, along with seven brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela K. (Jerry) Jarnagan and Lesa (Louie) Gonzalez; four grandchildren, Bambii-lyn (David) Kluck, Caitlin Gonzalez, Jessica (Alex) Nunez and William Gonzalez; and a great-grandson, Aiden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
