"Mrs. J. B. Beall died at her home in McGirk, Mills county, Wednesday night, and the body will be brought here in interment, the time of the funeral being fixed for Friday morning at 9 o'clock, at the residence of Mr. H. D. Sparks. Mrs. Beall was known here as Mr. Alice Christian, and was married to Mr. J. B. Beall some four years ago. Lucious Christian and Mrs. H. D. Sparks are her children, and they have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad loss."

The following obituaries were copied just as they were published in the Friday, March 18, 1904 edition of The Lampasas Leader. Contributed by FAG member Sue Lilley. Original photocopy work by Jeff Jackson:
"In Memoriam.
Death has again come among us. "Then the dust shall return to the earth as it was and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." A large circle of relatives are in the wails of bereavement "and the mourners go about the sreets".
This time it was Mrs. Alice Beall, who was born in Mississippi in 1856. She was first married to J. G. Christian, and the following named children survive her: Mrs. H. D. Sparks, Lucious Christian and Mrs. G. W. Ball. Later she was married to J. B. Beall, who is still living in Mills county. Deceased lived several years in Lampasas, and was well and favorably known. She was an ardent member of the Baptist church and lived a beautiful Christian life up to the hour of her death, which took place March 9th, 1904 at McGirk, Mills county, Texas. The remains were shipped to Lampasas, and interred in the large city cemetery the following Friday by and in the presence of one of Lampasas' large funeral assemblies. Thus ended the earthly period of a life unselfishly devoted to her family, her friends and her God.
