She was born in 1824 in Winchester, Franklin County, TN Her parents were Charles Lewis Estill/Estelle and Nancy Garner Estill/Estelle. She was one of eight children in the family.
She married Dr. Addison McGehee King on 24 Oct 1840 in Carroll County, MS. They had nine children: Charles, F. M., Addison Jr., Hilary(male), Thomas, Eleanor, Allis, Bell and Mary.
During her lifetime she experienced the Mexican American War, the Civil War, the invention of the telephone, invention of the electric light bulb and the first airplane.
Photo request searcher was unable to find a grave or grave marker for Eleanor Estelle King. Probable unmarked grave. (May 2013)∼Died. Monday evening, Feb. 15th, 1909, Mrs. E. M. King, aged 79 years.
The deceased was Tennessean by birth, and was living at the home of her son, Thos. King, on the Dallas Pike. Death came suddenly from heart failure.
The funeral was held at the residence Tuesday, conducted by a minister from Ovilla, and interment was made in Lisbon Cemetery.
