Fred William Stork, Jr., born November 21 1914 in Saginaw, MI, is the son of Fred W. Stork and Elsie Anna Meyer Stork. Fred was raised in Saginaw where he graduated from Arthur Hill High School and Bay City Junior College. After graduating from Bay City Junior College, Fred entered business with his Father. Fred was Vice President of Stork Engineering Company, Vice President of Stork Oil Company, and owned and operated the Stork Cattle Ranches at Zilwaukee, MI and Hale, in Northern MI. Fred was considered one of Michigan's outstanding and best informed cattlemen. Fred was a Polled Hereford breeder and he and his Father were regular participants at Michigan Polled Hereford Association shows with two of their award winning Polled Herefords being JIR Domestic Mischief 22d and CMR Larry Domino 4th. Fred had a 50 cow herd of APHA Registered Polled Herefords and a commercial herd of about 250 Hereford brood matrons. Fred was a director of the Northeastern Michigan Calf Association and secretary-treasurer of the Michigan Polled Hereford Association. Fred married Phyllis Barbara Walch on June 13, 1936, in Saginaw. Phyllis and Fred raised a family of two daughters and four sons on the Stork Ranch in Zilwaukee, MI. Fred was a skilled hunter and an excellent wing shot, winning awards in skeet shooting at the Saginaw Gun Club. Fred was active in Masonic groups and he and his family were members of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Saginaw. Fred was the brother of Dorothy Stork Davidson, Ruth Stork Stingel,and Kathryn Stork Grube. The passing of Fred at age 38, was a great loss to his family and friends. Gone too soon, much loved, and never forgotten.
