W. B. Boren was born in Madison county, near Huntsville, Ark., Aug. 8, 1842. He died in Cherokee county, near Park Hill, Okla., Nov. 15, 1909, being afflicted with a cancer. His chief occupation was farming. He went into the Confederate army in 1860 at the age of 18 and served there till the close of the war. A few years after the war he was married to Miss Mary Holland. To them was born two sons both of whom are now living in Texas. Mr. Boren's first wife lived with him but a few years until she died. He next married Miss Rebekah Adams. To them was born nine children, all of whom with their mother, survive him, except one. Mr. Boren professed religion several years ago but never did join any church. He often said during his sickness that he was prepared to die. At different times he rejoiced in a Savior's love. He was a faithful husband and father and a good neighbor. He was a man who attended strictly to his own business and wished everybody well. He moved to Oklahoma with his wife and three of his children Oct. 8, 1909, to rest there until Jesus will come again, to call him from the tomb to take him to Heaven where parting will be no more.
