Cyrus Fields Johnson, 100, Witter, died Thursday, July 4 at his home. Born Nov. 4, 1873, in Clay County, Ky., he was the son of Joe and Susan Prophet Johnson and a retired farmer.

Survivors include four sons, Orville Johnson, Theodore Johnson and Hershel Johnson, Witter, and Louis Johnson, Springdale; three daughters, Mrs. Susie Bean, Wilmar, Calif., Mrs. Lena Parker, Salina, Okla., and Mrs. Verna Parker, Witter; two brothers, Roscoe Johnson and Walter Johnson, Pettigrew; one sister, Mrs. Lula Davis, Houston, Tex., 26 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday, July 8 at 2 p.m. in Venus Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Spurlock and the Rev. Noel Easterling officiating. Burial was under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Pallbearers were Eugene Bryant, Dorsey Keck, Everett Maggard, Gussie Swearingen, Jim Bennett and Johnny Williams.
