MRS. PETER HILL DEAD
Passed away today noon after a long residence in Carthage

Mrs. Peter Hill died today at 12:30 pm after a long suffering with cancer of the breast, at her home four miles south of Carthage. She had been confined to her bed the last month. The funeral will be held on Monday at 10:30 am from the residence, conducted by Dr Scott, interment at Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hill was Miss D.C. Hess, born in Ionia County, Michigan June 7, 1846 and was married Oct 26, 1867 at St Louis. She came with her husband to Carthage in 1867 and Mr. Hill engaged in the harness business in this city till 1884 when they moved to their present home south of town. Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Eva.(obituary from Carthage Evening Press, Jan 25, 1902)
