Dies Suddenly At Home
Rites Wednesday for Owner of Insurance Agency

Charles H Kilmer, 60, owner of a general insrance agency at 246 North Street, died of a heart attack late last night at his home 40 Charles Street.

Mr. Kilmer had been in insurance work 30 years. He was district manager for the Massachusetts Bonding & Insurance Company and general agent for the Aetna Casualty & Surety Company. He had been honored several times for outstanding production. In 1941, he leet all Aetna salesmen in Wesern Massachusetts, Vermont, an New Hampshire in writing accident insurance.

A native of Lenox, he had lived in Pittsfield 55 years. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are his widow, the former Florence A. Volin of Pittsfield; a sister, Mrs. Leigh Blaney of Lanesborough; a brother, Raymond L Kilmer of New York; an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Williams of Lee, and serveral nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the American Legion, its 40 and 8, the Lions Club, the Pittsfield Sportmen's Club and the Holy Name Society of St Charles Church.

The body is a the Meehan Funeral Home, where members of the family will meet friends tonight from 7 to 10 and tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at St Charles' Church
