Lifetime Davis resident J. T. Hunt, 78, died March 13, 2003, at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore, Funeral services were March 15 at Fox Funeral Home Chapel, with Joe Hisle and Al Hunt officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Davis to John Thomas and Emma (Willis) Hunt. He attended Davis Schools. He married Betty Hayes on Dec. 23, 1943, in Davis. Hunt owned and operated Hunt Construction Company. He was a member of Third and Atlanta Church of Christ in Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two daughters, Connie McGee and Cathy Shaughnessy, both of Davis; a brother, Al, and a sister, Carolyn Simonsen, both of Davis; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jimmy Salter, Glenn Vandever, Tim Nichols, Gerald Goodson, D. J. Byrd and Norman Shiplett. Honorary pallbearers were D. O. Salter, J. C. Fry, Bill Carper, Dr. David Eggenberg and Jimmy Dale.
