Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Gilmer Whistle were held Tuesday, September 4, 1973 at 2:00 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Dell, Ark.
The Rev. Curtis Bryant of North Little Rock, and the Rev. J.D. Rains of Dell officiated.
Mrs. Whistle died September 2, 1973 en route to a Memphis hospital. She was born in Potts Camp Miss., on April 30, 1909, and moved to the Blytheville area in 1925.
She was untied in marriage to J.R. Whistle in 1929.
Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Rom Whistle of Steele; four daughters, Mrs. Sue Johnson of Manila, Ark.; Mrs. Carolyn Brown of Steele; Mrs. Peg Hastings, Omaha, Neb.; and Mrs. Pat Waldrop of West Memphis.
She leaves her mother, Mrs. Daisy Gilmer of Matthews, Mo.; two brothers: Harlan Gilmer of Matthews and Jim Gilmer of Parma, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Evans of Dexter; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gary Sanders, Vernon Ray, Jimmy Leek, Doyle Houston, Hunter Williams and Clinton Smith.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Cobb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
