Peggy Jean Whistle Hastings, 67, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Steele, died January 1, 2009, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Born April 29, 1941 in Manila, Ark., she is the daughter of the late J.R. and Ruth Whistle. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rom Whistle, and her sister, Sue Johnson.
Peggy was united in marriage to Ronnie Hastings on July 31, 1959.
She graduated from Steele High School in 1959, and was employed by Praxiar Healthcare Services and attended Southeast Christian Church in Louisville.
Mrs. Hastings leaves her husband, Ronnie Hastings; two sons: Pat Hastings and his wife Pam and Todd Hastings and his wife Vonda; five grandchildren: Lindsey, Lauren, Jessica, Todd Jr., and Jacob, all of Louisville; two sisters: her twin Pat Waldrop of West Memphis, Ark., and Carolyn Brown of Fayette, Mo.
A memorial service for Mrs. Hastings was held Monday, January 5, 2009 at Fern Creek Funeral Home in Louisville.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
