Karl Conrad Allamand
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 1997, in Stehn's Milwaukie Funeral Home for Karl Conrad Allamand, who died Aug. 3 of injuries from a hot-air balloon accident at age 81.
Mr. Allamand was born April 20, 1916, in Monticello, Iowa. He attended California Polytechnic University. In 1939, he married Thelma F. Cook; she died in 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A welder, he worked for Precision Castparts for more that 40 years and retired in the late 1970s.
Survivors include his daughters, Beverly Mitchell of Great Falls, Mont., and Mary Gumaer of Newport, Wash.; son Jean N. of Union; sisters, Dorothy Turner of Dime Box, Texas, and Mary Lou Guthrie of Flippin, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Williamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
