Lillian Myers
Lillian E. Myers, 64, of 1425 Kirkwood Avenue, died unexpectedly at her home Monday.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home with burial in Memory Gardens.
Born to Abraham and Mary Louise Arnold Allamand, Feb. 4, 1911, Mrs. Myers attended the University of Iowa School of Nursing and completed her training at the Jones County Hospital. As a registered nurse, she worked for the University of Iowa Hospital School for Handicapped Children.
On Jan. 20, 1934, she married Richard Myers in Marengo. She moved to Iowa City the same year.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Optomisses, and the YWCA.
Surviving are two sons, Richard and Gerald; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Caroline Neff, of Princeton, Mrs. Ann Schofield, of Nielsville, Wis., Mrs. Dorothy Turner, of Frisco, Tex., Mrs. Mary Lou Guthrie, of Marion, Ohio; and three brothers, George, of Yuba City, Calif., Carl, of Portland, Ore., and Raymond, of Marion, Ohio.
Mrs. Myers' husband and three brothers died earlier.
Memorial donations may be sent to the UI Hospital School for Handicapped Children.
