John Over - 11 April 1901-The above named aged man, who has been lying very low for some weeks at his home with Mr.& Mrs. Thomas Brinkley, passed peacefully to his rewarded on Wednesday 10 April 1901,having passed his 94th birthday on 7 December last. During about the past eight years ,"Uncle John", as almost everybody familiarly called him, had been a resident of Clarion and his peaceful, quiet, contented Christian life has been a benediction to all who have come under his influence. No one could resist the calm assurance and steadfast hope he enjoyed and gave expression to on all occasions .As he gave utterance in sentiment to Paul's statement ,"For me life in Christ; but to die is gain. "
Mr. Over leaves five sons to survive him; one of whom is Honorable J.W. Over, Judge of the Orphans Court of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania .He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Wilson, Rimersburg and the other in Pittsburg. Judge Over and the other sons are expected to be present at the funeral. The other two sons are situated so that they probably could not be reached in time for the obsequies.
The funeral services will be held at Mr. Brinkley's this evening and the remains will be taken to Mt. Pleasant Church in Licking Township for interment on Friday morning.
