Alvey, who died Tuesday morning at 10:55 o'clock at his home in Louisville, was brought here yesterday morning and buried in St. Augustine's Cemetery by the side of his wife, Mrs. Ophelia Brothers Alvey, who passed away a little more than a year ago. Funeral services were held at Holy Cross Church in Louisville at 7:30 o'clock. Mr. Alvey, who died following a several months illness of diabetes, was born and reared in the Holy Cross section of this county. When a young man he came to this city and for a number of years operated a saloon. During the years he spent in Lebanon he made friends of all his acquaintances. He had been making his home in Louisville for some time. He was 75 years old and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. Atterson Alvey, both deceased. He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Newton and Mrs. Margaret McDermott, and a brother, Ed Alvey, all of Louisville. Several grandchildren also survive.
