Father-( ? ) Mother-( ? ) Married-ALVEY, GEORGE See Lebanon Enterprise, 2/24/1933, Friday---HOLY CROSS---When the news reached here last Thursday of the death of Mrs. Ophelia Alvey, beloved wife of George Alvey of Louisville, many were bowed in grief as Mrs. Alvey was formerly of Holy Cross and had a number of friends and relatives here. She was near her 70th year and was truly a good mother and faithful wife. She was buried in Lebanon Saturday morning beside her 3 children who died some years ago. Also see same issue, page 4---BROUGHT HERE FOR BURIAL---The body of Mrs. Ophelia Alvey, a former resident of this city, who died at her home in Louisville Thursday morning at 11:30 o'clock, was brought here Saturday morning for burial in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Services were held at the Holy Cross Church in Louisville at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Alvey was the wife of George Alvey and was about 70 years old. Before coming to this city to live she resided in the Holy Cross section of the county. The family moved to Louisville many years ago. Other than her husband she is survived by one son, Neal W. Alvey, and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Newton and Mrs. Margaret McDermott, all of Louisville. Three children preceded her to the grave.
