Prominent Pioneer Searcian Dies
Mrs. Stella Steward Faulk, prominent pioneer Searcian and wife of Albert Sidney Faulk, died at a local hospital Thursday after having been in ill health for several months.
Daughter of the late L. J. Steward and Anne Steward, well known native White Countians, she was born in Bald Knob, moving to Searcy in 1910 when her father was sheriff of White County. She and Mr. Faulk were married on November 10, 1921, and soon would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
The Faulks lived in Little Rock 24 years, returning to Searcy in 1958. Mrs. Faulk was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Searcy and had served as circle chairman of the women of the church of both the Searcy and Little Rock churches. She was a member of the Searcy Garden Club, and of the Woman's City Club in Little Rock.
Survivors, other than her husband, are one brother, Reisser Steward of Searcy; two nephews, W. R. Steward, Jr., and P. D. Huff of Little Rock; and two nieces, Mrs. Loraine Hull of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Martha Haney of Little Rock.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Searcy, conducted by the Rev. Wallace Stark and assisted by Dr. Richard Neelly.
Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery at Little Rock by Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.
