Daniel Hunsaker who died here last week, aged 68 years was born in Wood county near Bowling Green, Ohio, October 13, 1852. He moved to Fostoria, Ohio, when he was 16 years of age. While there he met and married Marrietta Beck, May 13, 1875. In March, 1888, they moved to Spokane, Wash., where Mr. Hunsaker was engaged in business until 1894, when he moved to White Salmon after the panic of 1893.
Mr. Hunsaker and wife first settled on the A.H. Jewett property and later purchased property in North White Salmon in the Fruit Valley district where he has made his home for the past 27 years.
*For some odd reason, (it is said because WA Land deed misspelled name Hunsaker) Daniel's name from Hunsicker to Hunsaker after he resided in the State of OR. The rest of the family in Ohio (parents-siblings-cousins) kept the spelling Hunsicker with pride. His own children had varied ways to spell their name, children buried in Ohio of David/Marietta, spelled their birth name Hunsicker, as all ancestors before them.
*family not transferable, 3rd great-uncle
