Berlin was born December 5, 1932 in Marion County to William Dowell Eddy and Donnie Alice Hudson Eddy. He was a resident of Brilliant most of his life; where he attended Brilliant High School and Brilliant Free Will Baptist Church. He retired from Mutual Savings Life Insurance as a Sales Representative. He had also worked with American General and Interstate Life. Berlin was also a past member of the Brilliant Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, Berlin was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene, Junior, Ellie Hugh, and Carl Raymond Eddy; and a sister, Janice Eddy.
Berlin is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Eddy; three sons, Mac Eddy of Pinson, AL, Mark (Linda) Eddy of Remlap, AL, and Joey (Kim) Eddy of Haleyville; one daughter, Kathy (Richard) Coyne of Trussville; five grandchildren, Patrick Coyne, Allison Coyne (Drew) Hammond, Ashley Eddy, Whitney Eddy, and Courtney Eddy; three brothers, Erskine Eddy of Brilliant, Dale Eddy of Guin, and Gerald Ray Eddy of Rockford, IL; two sisters, Irene Dees of Rockford and Lorraine Foss of Viroqua, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Burial followed in Brilliant Memorial Gardens with David Sexton and Bill Duncan officiating.
