Mrs. Melinda S. Nichols
Mrs. Melinda S. Nichols, widow of Joseph G. Nichols, passed away at the Homeopathic Hospital last evening, at 7:30 o'clock. She had been ailing since December and had been under treatment in the hospital for four weeks, suffering from complications.
Mrs. Nichols was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kerns Kitchen, and spent all of her life in Chester county. For over more than fifty years she resided in West Chester. She was seventy-eight years of age.
Being a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, she was interested in all of its activities. For ore than thirty years she was secretary of the Ladies' Working Guild. She was a member of the Missionary Society and of St. Ursula's Guild, and was active as long as she was able. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
One son, Harry Nichols, of 29 South Walnut street, with whom she as made her home for many years, survives. There is on granddaughter, Helen, wife of Walter Craig, and one grandchild. Two sisters and one brother also survive, Mrs. Jesse Adams, Mrs. Charles Grant and John Kitchen, all of Wilmington, Del.
NICHOLS- In Homeopathic Hospital, on April 13th, Melinda S., widow of the late Joseph G. Nichols, in the 78th year of her age.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from her late residence 29 S. Walnut St., on Thursday, April 16th, at 2 o'clock, p.m. Interment at Greenmount Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening.
