J. C. Kitchen
Intelligence was received in West Chester early Saturday evening of the serious illness of J. C. Kitchen, of Wilmington, Del., formerly of West Chester. His daughters, Mrs. Joseph G. Nichols and Mrs. Alfred Yerkes, left immediately for that city, but the old gentleman quietly passed away during the night. His affliction was paralysis of the brain. Deceased was in his 71st year, and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. His remains will be laid away to rest to-morrow afternoon.

The funeral of J. C. Kitchen, father of Mrs. Joseph G. Nichols, of this borough, took place in Wilmington, Del., this afternoon and was attended by a large number of his relatives and friends. The interment took place in Brandywine Cemetery, on Delaware ave. Mr. Kitchen for years resided in Marlborough Township, this county, where he was well and favorably known.
