Huldah was the eldest child of Jeremiah D. Conwell and Christina Carruthers. Born and raised at Stillwater, she married in 1860 to Andrew "Andy" B. Latto who lived near the Lima Presbyterian Church at Stillwater. The Conwell farm was a short walk away. Andy was a farmer his entire life, and after his death, Huldah lived on at the Stillwater farm assisted by her daughter, Zona, her brother Joe Conwell, and her Conwell nieces who lived just up the road. She died of catarrhal pneumonia at only 71, although her nieces and nephews, who adored her, thought she seemed much, much older. She was a "favorite auntie."
